India's Rank top 3 in Doping
An increase the number of offenders has taken India into the top three of the world 's biggest doping violation in a WADA report highlighting the transgressions for the year 2019 with body building weightlifting and athletics leading to the country's embarrassing record.
In the latest report published by the world Anti- Doping Agency and quoted by PTI, 152 ( 17 % of the world total) Anti Doping rules violation were reported in India 2019.
Leaving it third in the list with the maximum dope offender coming from bodybuilding (57) .
Among the Olympics sports weightlifting lead the way 25 followed by Athletic (20) wrestling (10), boxing and judo reported by each. Four cricketers were also found to have committed ADRV in 2019.
A light weight in global sports, India is only behind Russia (167) and Italy (157), while Brazil (78) is at fourth and Iran (70) fifth.
Russia was banned from fielding it's national team in Tokyo Olympics for not complying with International anti- doping rules.
In the previous WADA report meant for anti doping violation in 2018. India was placed fourth with 107 ADRV behind Russia (144) , Italy (132) and (114).
