Bank holidays december 2021: banks will be closed for 12 days in total this month, check out important dates

According to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) holiday calendar, banks will be closed for a total of 12 days in November and the rest are weekends.

Before visiting your bank branch in December, you should note the important days during which many bank branches across the country will be closed.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has mentioned a few days when banking operations will be closed in December 2021, although online banking activities will continue.

According to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) holiday calendar, banks will be closed for a total of 12 days in December - 7 and the rest are weekends.

However, you should note that banks will be in all states or territories for 12 days. This is the total day when banks in different parts of the country will be closed for the state holiday. For example, for the same festival in Himachal Pradesh, the branches of the bank may be closed for the celebration of St. Francis Xavier in Goa.

The Reserve Bank of India gives leave in three brackets - leave under the Negotiable Instruments Act; Holidays and real-time gross settlement holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act; And closing bank accounts.

However, it should be noted that bank holidays vary from state to state and are not observed by all banking companies. Banking holidays also depend on the festivals celebrated in certain states or notifications of special events in those states.

In addition to the above bank holidays, the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays of the month fall on the following dates:

December 11 - Second Saturday of the month

December 25 - Fourth Saturday of the month and Christmas

December 26 - Sunday

The holidays of the mentioned days will be observed in different regions as per the holidays declared by the state, however, banks across the country will remain closed for gazetted holidays.
